What were your impressions of the physical state of the ship? Don't hold back.
hi sir M - physical state? i'd say that she is properly maintained.... paint is new.. no grease/oil in the surroundings... markings are visible... they have service vehicle/s on board (an isuzu multi-cab & several motorcycles), guns are still working (as per crew stories of firing exercise).... ropes/mooring line are new... engine i think is still good coz they just came from indonesia & i saw her navigate the choppy water of surigao during undocking/docking manuever... etc... crew also are well groomed... those on duty are in complete uniform (blue cover-all) complete with name plate... think it has to do with their CO... the crew told me that they have a good CO who really take care of their ship & of his crew
also, some of the WWII bullet wounds are still visible... was privilege to see a living-legend face-to-face....
as i was browsing my photos & seems i was over excited going on board that i missed taking pictures on a lot of things... planning to she her again next week... hope to get more pix
