Looks like the second prototype, since it didnt incorporate some of the things that the Army R&D recommended, like the V Hull.  Did the Army give this to the PNP for their avaluation or sold to them to fund further R&D?  Paging Sir Mike and Sgt.Bilko

Its DEFINITELY not the second prototype. based on the earlier parade photos, this unit has a higher ground distance and the bottom looks higher, maybe utilizing the V-hull concept. Major difference is the weapon mount, judging by the size of the cover and ammo can, i'd say its too big for a 7.62mm, probably a .50 cal at least.

This probably is not a prototype, its probably a production version. who in their right mind would test this vehicle with only a police pickup as escort?  eyes Its a whole lot better than the white scout car they're using right now in Jolo.

Your right Mr. M, the PULIS ESCORT  is sexier when its covered with mud! Hmmm... IMHO, The army's R&D has been caught dead in its tracks with its finger up its nose.  It would be quite an embarrassment  to see the PNP is using in the same battlefield where the army's R&D is still in the evaluation test after almost a year's head start.

Based on the photographs that provided to the mods last year . . . it is the 2nd prototype.

Still awaiting confirmation though.

I really hope its in production. With this things will change for the future.  Our men and women in uniform will be safer and we ensure that they get to go home safely every time they patrol.

Before jumping to these conclusions  I suggest reading a thread that is related to this vehicle and understand more about the project.  Scathing remarks like these tends to attract attention, attention from some people who are in the know far more than we will ever do.

if its the PNP who has tested it, maybe its just my speculation that its just a cover-up for an actual army test?just mt thoughts gents, hold down tthat trigger afro

but one thing i noticed,i know its the 2nd prototype, but it has a better ground clearance, and a different weapons system basket. Of which that was what i would wanna see on some finer improvements. But it hell looks sexy to me,much like the P2 of theindonesians. I hope they configure more the v-shaped hull, and improve the sides of the MX8 for other uses like up-ended turbos, and stuff.but im very happy seeing that beast on its natural setting, very promising scene if youd ask me afro

at least this partially answers some questions in my mind. i regularly pass the santolan fly-over and in the last quarter of 2008 was surprised to see the AEV parked at the crame parade ground along with other vehicles during what appears to be an anti-riot exercise/function.

I stand corrected. This is NOT the 2nd prototype.

According to a Timawan lurker with very close ties to the project (A1 reliable) this is the PNP's own MX-8. Still seeking permission to share the list of changes.

If this was a prototype and being tested, it should be at least escorted 2 vehicles. But from the picture, it looks the other way around, so its probably not a prototype.  beer
