The answer to you question is NO.....

1. BCMT is Basic Citizen Military Training... graduates are ENLISTED not COMMISSIONED\

2. There are no officers that come out as a result OF BCMT.......

3. NO RESERVE TRAINING ever gives graduates side arms.....

I have no idea where your info came from.... may be the person you heard this from was just joking around

Sidearm during BCMT Grad? Could be ceremonial, but still, normally plain holsters are issued and returned after the activity.

The Philippines  have done an amazing job keeping their Cannon-class Frigate operational–who would have imagined that the World War II veteran (with a U-boat kill to her credit, no less) would still be up and operational for the Balikatan 2010 exercises?  That is an amazing feat, and if there is a Navy out there that can keep an older combatant going, it’s the Philippines’ Navy.

Hi Migs,

It usually is a matter of who is present during the 1st day of reporting... including the next days you are requested to report... you can only say you are part of the batch once RECEPTION has been completed... this usually takes place around the 3rd or 4th day of reporting... so my advice is never to miss a single day of reporting from the 1st day... ksi anytime a class is declared to be officially open marami pang gustong sumali... marami na case na nangyari na kasama un tao sa original list ng trainees... pero mahilig mag absent during the crucial days ng pag report... therefore ung slot ng wala... mapupunta sa taong nandoon na may dalang complete documents...

Point is... once requested to report... NEVER EVER EVER miss a single day of reporting until your class is officially declared as welcome...

Hope this helps....
