Living in ALASKA, there's one thing that is 100% guaranteed... that is going to SNOW!

Took this picture on my way to work. This guy must have a bigger balls than the rest of us or just plain idiot riding his bike on icy road in a -5 degrees F. temp. :jeez:

It's the worst snowy winter I've ever seen and experienced here in Anchorage, but not as bad as the other two smaller town of Valdez and Cordova. :jeez:

MOTHER NATURE'S way of telling Alaskans to "take a break people!" Be back next week for more white powdery stuff! :eyes:

National Guardsmen/women were dispatched to help dig out the small town of Cordova,
Alaska...Thank goodness!

Clearing the snow off the roof from Public School buildings to prevent from colapsing and get the kids back to school ASAP....Well done, guys!

You are not alone Sir Romzz. While we do not have that much snow here in the Edmonton (yet!), we have been dealing with a little bit cooler temp (daytime highs in the -20degC or colder range) for the past few days now. Apparently, it is too cold to snow here. This morning it is -32degC with windchill at -41! In this temp, exposed skin will freeze in 20mins or less. Luckily, if the talking head on TV is right, we will be back to seasonal temp (-8degC daytime high) mid next week.
It is because light travels faster than sound that some people appear bright, until they start talking

Snowstorm creates a havoc in Seattle closing schools, airports, traffic accidents, power outages and trees falling into powerlines. The governor declare an emergency in Seattle and neighboring areas. :jeez:

Trees are starting to bloom in the San Francisco area. Mustards are blanketing the floor of orchards in the Mid Valley with their eye-catching tiny yellow flowers. Farm workers are back in the orchards pruning the trees.

And it's only February!
PN according to Manokski:
"something gray with a side number on it that floats"
PAF according to Ramon J. Farolan:
"we are now basically a helicopter fleet"
PA according to drkula
"it is better to talk forever than fight forever"

"Applying the standards of the rest of the country for what is acceptable and logical behavior in order to predict what this group of people will do is dangerous and can be faulty. Too many analysts and military commanders have already made that same mistake."
